Description This sampler has five rows of alphabets separated by decorative bands. A rectangle on the bottom includes her name, place, and date. The sampler is surrounded by a vine and strawberry border on its left, right and top.

Pamelia Paxton was born on December 28, 1829 to William Paxton (1805–1858, born in Rockbridge County, Virginia) and Matilda J. Alcorn Paxton (1810–1868, born in Stanford, Lincoln County, Kentucky). Pamelia married George Veach Whiteside (1815–1856). Her children included: Son Paxton (unk–1850), Daughter Paxton (unk–1851), Elizabeth Paxton Haff (1832–1854), James Love Paxton (1845–1902) and Clayton A. Paxton (1847–1890).
Pamelia Paxton died at age twenty on May 22, 1850 in Missouri and is buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Middletown, Montgomery County, Missouri.
