The sampler most likely was made c. 1844 by Mary E Newbolt as her life dates were never completed. It is currently owned by a Private Collector with the images and some of the data provided to AKS courtesy of the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) at Old Salem.
Description
Kentucky Family Record samplers are rare. Please see other examples Elizabeth N. In the top section of the sampler, there are four rows of alphabets and numbers separated by decorative crossbands. The remaining lower portion of the sampler is divided into sections recording the life dates of members of the Newbolt family as follows:

“George W Newbolt was born in davis county ky sep 27 1840 died april 23 1843”
“George A Newbolt was born in davis county ky june 8 1843 died June 1903”

Death dates were added later with different color thread.

Mary Etta (or Marietta) J. Newbolt was the daughter of George Newbolt (1804-1843) and Elizabeth “Bettie” Gray Adams (1806-1883). Her siblings included John J. (1830-1897), Margaret M. (1832-1865), Susan E. (1834-1844), William E. (1836-1858), Elisha Adams (1838-1913), George W. (1840-1843), and Georgeanne (1843-1903).

Mary E. J. Newbolt married brickmason John G. Long (1821-1894) on April 23, 1847, and the couple had at least two children, Mary Elizabeth Long (1848-1854), and Joeletsy Long (Bennett) (1857-1916).

Mary E. J. Newbolt Long died on September 10,1860 and is buried in the Wallace-Newbolt cemetery in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky. (Please see the graveyard information in the ancillary images.)
